If you live in Tower Hamlets, you probably aren’t far from somebody who is going go through food crisis. Hunger as a result of poverty is not something that only happens in the Third World - it exists right here in our local community.

Tower Hamlets Foodbank is there when people have nowhere left
to turn.

In a borough which has the second highest level of income inequality in London as well as one of the highest rates of unemployment, unexpected problems such as bereavement, illness, redundancy and theft can often throw people without adequate support into crisis.

By banking food donated by local people, we enable the community to support the most disadvantaged when their need is greatest.
